Sabbath Messages > Sabbath Message: May 20, 2006 Good SabbathMay 20, 2006 As God is turned into movies and religion evolves from fiction to invention, with no living creatures to confirm or deny; as we long for insights into truth, yet pay to experience interpretation, life travels on and experience turns into insights and ignorance. Is there nobility buried somewhere out there and in whose tomb or story? O Lord when will You lead us to peace? And what about prejudice? And what of disease? Even in mediocrity and simple humanity we can be great, expressive, creative. We will find solutions and cures for everything, everything. This I know. As soon as we spend monies to educate young minds in healing instead of wasting it on resources that are controlled by fear, we will have arrived at the new Eden, already ready, waiting for our discovery of wisdoms-temporarily hidden. Wisdom hides when we are young, for impatience takes years to tame, and puzzles take shape with each discovery. Truth is the bastion of civil progress, but hides in mazes and foolishness and yes, even in religion that is separated from God, by idols and pageantry. Happy are those who find wisdom hidden just beyond youthfulness. The journey from here to there is called mortality, where foolishness fights for traction with wisdom. We never know when we will hit the end of mortality and few long for that end no matter how much we say we wish to end in heaven. Death is not an interlude, but an inevitable discovery and the beginning of immortality. It has only a beginning and no ending and we fear each in our hypocrisy towards God, Whom we love as much as we fear. This is indeed a cold weekend for me, for my beloved is with family, celebrating our oldest grandson's graduation into Law. They will miss me, I shall miss her desperately, yet happy that she is with people who will again discover her sagacity and beauty, hidden beneath her modesty. My thoughts are with Robbie for he will be a professional dedicated to the pursuit of justice and equality under our rare Constitution. It needs the protection of young minds and the wisdom of more experienced ones, that rarity that guarantees our future or our disappearance. Be with love this Sabbath; be in love this Sabbath. sandy |
