Sabbath Messages > Sabbath Message: April 2, 2005 Good SabbathApril 2, 2005 These are special thoughts about Pope John Paul II as he clings to the spark of life (as I write these words) , looking forward to being greeted by The Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost, as he enters the chamber of heaven. I have many friends who are Catholic, was raised in an entirely Catholic neighborhood, in New Jersey, and enjoyed the faith and beliefs of a religion dedicated to continuity of God and belief. We began the week saying farewell to a much younger lady, who had suffered damage to her body but clung to a soul of beauty. Unfortunately instead of being happy that she would be welcome by the same Noble Deity, it became a political event, for some people have no other value system, no appreciation for what true faith in a Kind God is all about. Religion is only good when it is the celebration of the continuing beauty of our relationship with God, no matter which pathway is chosen. For it is a pathway entirely illuminated by the glory to and of, a Kind Deity, Who wishes that our relationship with each other is filled with love, understanding and kindness rather than ceremony and memorized lines. In watching many people being interviewed by CNN, so many gathered in Rome, or in various churches around the world, their hearts filled with the coming loss of this Pope, yet his resurrection in the brightest light he will ever have seen, their faith reignited and rewarded by the next few days of remembering this gentle soul, whose life will be celebrated as mortals attempt to touch immortality, imagining that John Paul is welcomed to ever-lasting beauty, by the Holy Friend whom he has worshipped all of his mortal days. Sadness will evaporate as we realize that life is a prelude to immortality-the everlasting reward for good deeds and precious soul constructed through that goodness. I join with my friends in celebrating Pope John Paul II in life and everlasting life, unknown by any of us, except those who have a faith that justice and peace and kindness form the heaven for which we lust, yet attempt to postpone, with too much fear, as we approach that time when the unknown becomes the known. Wishing you a special Sabbath, filled with love and faithfulness, |
