Poetry > Sniffing a Flower

Good Sabbath

May 2001

I sniffed a flower today
bending down to reach its sniff
which was hiding under a blossom,
But I found it
for that's what a nose is for.

Oh yes, the sniff is attached to the soul
The stem is the heart
The root is the mind;
Make certain you unwind yours
for it is all free--
if you just sniff for it.
